Rahul Gandhi is all set to launch the 'Bharat Nyay Yatra', a 6200 km long campaign that will begin in the northeastern state of Manipur and end in the western city of Mumbai.
The tour will cover 14 states and 85 districts, Congress general secretary K C Venugopal said on Wednesday.
On 21 December, the Congress Working Committee unanimously decided that Rahul Gandhi should start a yatra (journey) from East to West. Rahul Gandhi also agreed to fulfil the wishes of the CWC.
"The All India Congress Committee has decided to hold a 'Bharat Nyay Yatra' from January 14 to March 20," a Congress spokesperson shared.
The 6,200 km route will include sections of bus rides as well as foot marches. According to Venugopal, the Nyay Yatra will be to ensure economic, social and political justice for the people of the country.
In September last year, Gandhi set out from Kanyakumari on a 3,570 km Bharat Jodo Yatra. The five-month long march, in which thousands of Congress workers and opposition leaders participated, ended in Srinagar in January.
