Russia strongly condemned the deadly strike on Donetsk mounted by Ukraine on Sunday morning and calls on foreign governments and international organizations to condemn it as well, the country's foreign ministry said.
"The Russian side strongly condemns this treacherous strike against the civilian population. The West's relentless desire to inflict a 'strategic defeat' on Russia through the hands of Ukrainian puppets, whom it is ready to support thoughtlessly and without limits, is pushing the Kiev regime toward increasingly reckless steps, including acts of terrorism, massive violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes," the ministry said.
It also described the shelling as a "barbaric terrorist act against Russia's civilian population," adding that such acts reveal Kiev's lack of political will "for peace and diplomatic settlement of the conflict."
"Russia calls on all responsible governments and relevant international bodies to issue a strong condemnation of this cruel terrorist attack," the ministry said.
