What is Su-30MKI Jet
In the late 1990s, India and Russia signed a deal to manufacture Su-30MKI aircraft as per India’s needs.
The eventual outcome of this customization is identified as the Sukhoi series fighter aircraft.
The first deliveries of Su-30MK-1s arrived in March 1997 and were formally inducted on June 11, 1997, by the then-Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral.
Later, 32 Su-MKI aircraft were delivered between 2002 and 2004. In 2007, India was cleared to buy 20 more Su-MKIs and currently has about 260.
