India Starts Testing Indigenous Fuel for BrahMos Cruise Missile: Reports

India has kicked off testing indigenous fuel for the BrahMos cruise missile, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Defence Materials Stores and Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE) in Kanpur, India, has sent samples of indigenous fuel for the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile for testing.
BrahMos Aerospace, an Indo-Russian joint venture, produces supersonic cruise missiles that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or ground platforms. The company was established in 1998 and is named after the Brahmaputra and Moscow rivers.
The Russian side in the joint venture is represented by NPO Mashinostroyenia. Fuel for the BrahMos missile is currently exported from Russia to India.
