Russia's Rosatom Announces NPP Launches in India & Bangladesh Scheduled for 2024

Russia's Rosatom, which specialises in nuclear energy and other high-tech products, will carry out physical launches at nuclear power plants in Bangladesh and India in 2024.

Bangladesh's first nuclear power plant (NPP) at the Rooppur station and India's third unit at the Kudankulam NPP will be physically commissioned this year, Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev said on the Rossiya-24 television channel.
Discussing the imminent launch of these two exciting international projects, Likhachev emphasised that several agreements with other countries were nearing completion.

He shared that negotiations were underway with Belarusian partners for the construction of the third unit of the new NPP station, as well as with partners from the Middle East.
Likhachev added that Armenia needs to decide on the future direction of nuclear energy development within the next one and a half to two years.
