Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko told the Russian news agency in an interview that a new meeting between the heads of the foreign and defense ministries of Russia and India in the '2+2' format is soon to take place.
Answering a related question, the Deputy Foreign Minister said, "As you know, there has been only one meeting in the '2+2' format so far in December 2021 in New Delhi. There is a common understanding that such events are very useful, and they will be organized as needed and without any formal schedule. I can say with absolute certainty that such a new meeting is not far off."
Some time ago, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed confidence in the first meeting held in New Delhi, the capital of India, that this format will become an effective dialogue platform for the heads of the foreign and defense ministries of the Russian Federation and India to discuss a wide range of regional and international topics.
