An official announcement on Friday revealed that the Indian Army has successfully obtained a patent for a hexacopter tactical drone designed for surveillance operations in high-altitude areas (HAA).
The drone can track activity with a live video feed, and can launch from at least 5,500 meters above mean sea level and reach a minimum of 500 meters above ground level. The drone should be able to withstand 500 landings, while the standard version can last for at least 1,000 landings.
This technological advancement is set to enhance the Army's capabilities in conducting surveillance, reconnaissance, and detection missions in HAA, providing field commanders with real-time situational awareness, according to the Army's statement.
