The Indian Air Force (IAF) has begun its triennial exercise, Vayu-Shakti 2024, at the Pokhran Air to Ground Range in Rajasthan, aimed at demonstrating its military prowess during both day and night.
With the theme ‘Navsah Vajra Praharam’ or ‘lightning strike from the sky,’ 121 aircraft will participate, including indigenous models like Tejas, Prachand, and Dhruv, and international models such as Sukhoi-30 MKI, Rafale, and others.
The event will also feature advanced helicopters like Mi-17, Chinook and Apache.
The focus will be on showcasing the IAF's precise weaponry, including indigenous Surface to Air Weapon systems like Akash and Samar, and demonstrating the force's versatility through special operations involving the aircraft in collaboration with the Army.
