Libya Embraces Bangladeshi Businesses Eager to Expand Into North African Market

During a meeting with Bangladesh's Ambassador Abu Hasnat Bashar, Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade Mohamed Al-Hweij reiterated the North African nation's solid interest in bolstering cooperation with Bangladesh.

The Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hweij, has confirmed his office's readiness to provide comprehensive support to Bangladeshi businesses and entrepreneurs who are looking to enter the Libyan market, as reported by the local press.
This support would be provided through partnerships with private companies and the inclusion of Libyan representatives.

During the meeting with Bangladesh's Ambassador, Abu Hasnat Bashar, Al-Hweij reiterated Libya's strong interest in bolstering collaboration with Bangladesh. The focus is on fostering a lasting partnership encompassing trade, investment, the digital economy, and information technology.

The minister extended an invitation to his Bangladeshi counterpart to visit Libya and lead an economic delegation for active participation in the 50th Tripoli International Fair.
In return, Al-Hweij was invited to visit Bangladesh. The trip's goal would be to provide Al-Hweij with a first-hand understanding of the country's progress in the digital economy and its efforts in small and medium-sized projects.
In October of 2023, Libya and Bangladesh entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at beefing up collaborative efforts in streamlining labour procedures and fostering increased mutual understanding.
Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed this was especially pertinent due to the substantial number of Bangladeshi workers who have entered Libya through unauthorised channels.
