Russian forces repelled an attack of Ukrainian troops in the South Donetsk area over the past 24 hours, eliminating more than 140 soldiers, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday, adding that Kiev also lost a US-made Stryker armored personnel carrier.
"The Ukrainian losses amounted to more than 140 servicepeople, a US-made Stryker armored personnel carrier and four vehicles," the ministry said.
Meanwhile, Russia's Vostok grouping of forces attacked the 127th territorial defense brigade and the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army in the area of the villages of Rivnopil and Vodyane in the Donetsk People's Republic, and repulsed the Ukrainian attack in the area of the village of Volodymyrovka.
"During the counter-battery battle, two US-made M777 artillery systems, a French-made Caesar self-propelled artillery unit, a Rapira anti-tank gun, and a Nota electronic warfare station were destroyed," the ministry added.
