Russians and Indians joined together to march through the streets of Kolkata in the state of West Bengal holding a five-metre-long St. George Ribbon ahead of the 79th anniversary of Victory Day, paying solemn tribute to the Soviet soldiers who lost their lives during the Great Patriotic Wat.
The campaign, hosted on 5 May at the Russian House Kolkata, was attended by the families of Russian expatriates, with children as young as one-year-old, as well as Indian alumni of Russian universities.
Participants of the event exchanged stories about the remarkable fates of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, vividly recounting their extraordinary military journey during the Great Patriotic War.
