To facilitate Indian students in pursuing their studies in Russia and seek admission to their preferred courses and universities, the director of the Russian House Kolkata, Sergey Shushin, inaugurated the Russian Education Fair held in India's West Bengal state on Sunday.
The fair, which offered free entry to all, attracted numerous students and their parents who came to seek guidance on various study programs and scholarship opportunities.
At least eight leading Russian universities were represented at the event, providing applicants with valuable information about their educational programmes, and research hubs and making the admission procedures more streamlined and efficient.
These universities include Tver State Medical University, Orenburg State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, Ural State Medical University, Mari State University, Pskov State University, Tula State University and Kabardino Balkarian State University.
Dr. Dinesh Singla, a Russian Education Expert, who has been closely working with Rus Education, told Sputnik India that around 600 students attended the education fair both online and offline and 50% of them got scholarship and on the spot admission in medical courses.
"According to the latest guidelines of the National Medical Commission (FMGLR 2021), Russia has emerged as the top destination for Indian students aspiring to pursue course of MBBS abroad. This is primarily due to the fact that Russian universities fully adhere to the new regulations. The recognition of the courses and teaching methods for MBBS in Russia has instilled a greater sense of confidence among students who choose to study in Russia," Dr. Singla told Sputnik India.
"Moreover, once these students return to India, they are eligible to practice medicine, as the top medical universities in Russia also focus on preparing students for Indian licensing exam FMGE by inviting top Indian professors who teach the students as per the FMGE trends.” Singla added.
