The National Democratic Alliance, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in India, is leading in the parliamentary elections in India, according to exit poll data published by NDTV.
Elections to the lower house of the Indian Parliament were held from April 19 to June 1, and the counting of votes will be completed on June 4.
The Election Commission of India banned the publication of exit polls from 7.00 on April 19 until the end of voting at 6.30 pm (IST) on June 1.
The battle for 543 seats in the lower house of parliament (Lok Sabha) is now over, bar the tallying of votes.
According to the channel's calculations, Modi's coalition will win a majority in the lower house of parliament, with preliminary estimates putting it between 359 and 371 seats.
The opposition I.N.D.I.A. (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) coalition, which includes 28 parties, will gain 125 to 154 seats in the lower house, the TV channel reported.
The Election Commission of India plans to announce the final election results on June 4.
