Pakistan and Russia have signed a new accord on rail transport cooperation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Russia's Ministry of Transport and Pakistan's Ministry of Railways signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday at the 27th SPIEF conference.
The document sets out the parameters for joint initiatives to support and streamline international freight transportation.
The agreement was signed by Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali and Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Dmitry Zverev.
Over the past 24 years, SPIEF has evolved into a prominent global platform where business professionals gather to discuss the major economic challenges confronting the world, emerging markets and the global community.
The theme for this year's forum is "Establishing New Growth Areas as the Foundation of a Multipolar World."
