In the plenary session of the 27th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Pakistan and the Russian Federation signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of railway transport.
Pakistan and Russia have signed a new accord on rail transport cooperation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Russia's Ministry of Transport and Pakistan's Ministry of Railways signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday at the 27th SPIEF conference.
The pact aims to facilitate the modernization of Pakistan's railway infrastructure and promote future collaboration between companies in the rail transport sector, the Pakistani embassy in Moscow said.
The document sets out the parameters for joint initiatives to support and streamline international freight transportation.

Over the past 24 years, SPIEF has evolved into a prominent global platform where business professionals gather to discuss the major economic challenges confronting the world, emerging markets and the global community.
The theme for this year's forum is "Establishing New Growth Areas as the Foundation of a Multipolar World."
