Indian Gadget Exports to Russia Spiked by 36% in Early 2024

Bilateral trade between India and Russia keeps rising. From January to April 2024 the trade in smartphones and notebooks hit a new high.

Exports of Indian-made electronics to Russia soared by more than a third between January and April this year.
Shipments of smartphones to Russia increased 14-fold, while the export of laptop computers rose 25-fold, according to analysis of Indian State Service data by Sputnik.
Exports of mobile devices from India reached a value of $85.2 million in the first four months of the year, compared with $6 million in the same period of 2023.
Shipments in April alone amounted to $12.3 million, 5.7 times the figure for April last year.
India also supplied $17.8 million-worth of laptops to Russia in the first four months of the year, which is 25 times more than from January to April 2023.
Russia is now one of the main importers of smartphones from India.
