"As a result of active operations, units of the Tsentr battlegroup liberated the village of Chigary in the Donetsk People's Republic and also improved its strategic position," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In addition, units of the Tsentr Group repelled six attacks the previous day, with the Ukrainian army losing 340 soldiers, one tank and one Bradley Army Fighting Vehicle.
According to the ministry, the Tsentr battlegroup has inflicted losses on the 41st, 47th, 110th Mechanised Brigades, 142nd Infantry Brigade and 59th Motorised Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Artemovo, Druzhba, Vozdvizhenka, Timofeyevka, Toretsk, Berezovka and Novgorodskoye areas of the Donetsk People's Republic.
