The Sri Lankan chief executive might visit Russia after the nationwide vote, the South Asian island country's attorney told Sputnik.
“Not right away. You probably know that we are currently in the election period, so if such a visit does take place, it will be after that [election],” Sri Lanka’s Chargé d'Affaires in Russia Pakir Amza said, replying to a question about the possibility of the president’s visit.
The last time a Sri Lankan president visited Russia was in 2017 by the then-President Maithripala Sirisena.
