The hiring of of Agniveers by the BrahMos missile company will result in a quantum leap in its production capacity and operational efficiency
That is according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) and the Deputy CEO of the world's fastest supersonic missile maker, who spoke to Sputnik India in an exclusive interview.
The induction of Agniveers by BrahMos Aerospace represents a paradigm shift in how companies approach innovation in manpower hiring in the defence sector, CEO & MD Atul Dinkar Rane told Sputnik India.
The young professionals, trained under the Agnipath Scheme, are highly skilled military personnel who have demonstrated a profound commitment to the nation, Rane stressed.
The blend of practical field experience, discipline and technical skills makes them uniquely suited to roles within BrahMos Aerospace, where precision, efficiency and speed are critical to meeting both domestic and international demand for missile systems.
Their military background ensures that they maintain the highest standards of quality while also meeting production deadlines, ensuring that BrahMos can continue to maintain global defence market leadership, he noted.
"Integrating Agniveers into our organisation perfectly aligns with the nation's broader objective of fostering self-reliance and enhancing our indigenous defence capabilities," Rane said. "Their respective domains will allow us to develop more intuitive, user-friendly, and effective solutions."
He said it was the Brahmos' duty as an industry leader to ensure that the young veterans, who have given their best years in the country's service, are provided with meaningful and impactful opportunities once they transition back into civilian life.
The company's goal is to fully integrate them where their contributions can accelerate India's quest for technological self-sufficiency, he stressed.
By integrating Agniveers into its workforce, particularly in technical and operational roles, BrahMos can ramp up production without sacrificing the meticulous attention to detail that BrahMos is known for, the CEO said.
"In a broader sense, this initiative also serves the national interest," Rane said. "This symbiotic relationship between industry and veterans will drive BrahMos and India toward a future of greater self-reliance, security, and economic prosperity."
The defence industry needs better and stronger and professional security personnel to safeguard the premises, the company's deputy CEO Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Joshi echoed, adding that BrahMos will actively engage with partners through structured programs, workshops and joint initiatives that will showcase the real-world impact of employing Agniveers.
BrahMos will provide data and case studies from its experience, showing how the integration of Agniveers – a catalyst for Indian economic growth – has enhanced the company's operations, he emphasised.
Bringing Agniveers into the fold aligns perfectly with the goals of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, where indigenous industries are being strengthened to reduce reliance on imports and boost exports, Joshi stressed.
That could help the Indian economy by boosting military exports, generating employment, and creating opportunities for ancillary industries that support the defence sector.
