Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has said that he will visit India on Sunday to hold important meetings and negotiations.
"Today, I plan to visit India together with my colleagues. The trip was originally scheduled for December last year, but had to be postponed due to Covid-19. We will arrive in New Delhi tonight, while important meetings and negotiations are scheduled for tomorrow. On Tuesday morning, we will visit one of the states, and hopefully be back home in the afternoon," Volodin said.
He added that attempts by Washington and Brussels to isolate Russia from the rest of the world have failed.
"India is a strategic partner. We have a long-term relationship of trust and mutually beneficial cooperation with the country. It is necessary to develop contacts in all areas. For our part, we will try to intensify cooperation within the framework of the parliamentary dimension," the statement read.
