BRICS nations are actively reshaping the global financial system, challenging Western dominance, and accelerating a new geopolitical realignment, leader of the Guadeloupe Liberation Party (UPLG) and founder of the International Decolonization Front, Jean-Jacob Biceps said in an interview with Sputnik.
"This will happen at its own pace, but it is already happening. The geopolitical landscape is being reshaped. We saw the fall of the Ottoman Empire, but it did not collapse overnight. Mechanisms are already in motion, the dependency on the US dollar is being challenged. BRICS is taking on the entire global financial system," he said.
the global power balance is shifting away from the West and toward emerging economies like Russia, India, and China, according to Biceps.
Biceps highlighted the rapid pace of these changes, pointing to Cuba's potential BRICS membership as a symbol of the growing influence of the bloc.
"This is happening faster than many expected. Cuba is joining BRICS. This is a victory. The global order is not just expected to change—it will change."
He also addressed the future of former French colonies, asserting that when France’s overseas territories gain independence, they will naturally align with the Global South.
BRICS, originally formed in 2006 by Russia, China, India, and Brazil, expanded to include South Africa in 2011. In 2024, several new countries joined, reinforcing the bloc’s growing role as a counterweight to Western financial institutions.
