"During the night, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a coordinated strike using long-range precision weapons launched from land, air, and sea, along with attack drones. The targets, including gas and energy facilities critical to Ukraine's military-industrial complex, were successfully hit," the report states.
Throughout the night, air raid alerts were declared across several Ukrainian regions. Local media reported explosions in Poltava, Kharkov, Cherkasy, and the Merefa city in Kharkov region, as well as in the Ukrainian-controlled part of Kherson.
Later, Ukraine’s Energy Minister German Galushchenko announced emergency power cuts across the country. Nine settlements in Poltava Oblast were left without gas.
In responce to Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure, Russian forces regularly target enemy personnel, equipment, mercenaries, and infrastructure, including energy facilities, the defence industry, military command centres, and communication networks.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly emphasised that the Russian military does not strike residential buildings or social institutions.
