Russian-US Talks on Ukraine Unlikely Until Diplomatic Missions Fully Resume: Kremlin

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia and the United States are unlikely to begin negotiations on Ukraine until the diplomatic missions of the two countries resume full operation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"It's unlikely," Peskov said when asked to comment whether it was possible.
A Russian-US meeting dedicated to the problems of the embassies in Moscow and Washington was held on February 27 in Istanbul. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the parties had touched upon issues related to Russia's diplomatic property in the United States in the context of the return of six real estate properties "illegally seized in the period 2016-2018" to the Russian side.
Peskov also highlighted that it is too early to talk about where the next round of talks between Russia and the United States may take place.
"It is too early to talk about this," Peskov stated.
Earlier, the delegations of Russia and the United States held talks in Riyadh and Istanbul.
In Riyadh on February 18, the parties agreed to create conditions for the full resumption of cooperation between Russia and the United States and its expansion to new areas of mutual interest. In particular, Moscow and Washington agreed to remove artificial restrictions on the work of embassies and other foreign institutions, and to create high-level working groups to begin work on a fast resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.
