In response to the crisis, India’s Foreign Minister, S. Jaishankar, announced on Saturday that India has dispatched the first batch of emergency humanitarian aid to Myanmar.
This aid is part of India's efforts to support Myanmar in the wake of the devastating earthquake.
"AC-130 is carrying blankets, tarpaulin, hygiene kits, sleeping bags, solar lamps, food packets and kitchen set. A search & rescue team and medical team is also accompanying this flight," Jaishankar posted on X.
A powerful earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28, with reported magnitudes ranging from 7.7 to 7.9. A subsequent aftershock measuring 6.4 in magnitude followed the initial tremor. The earthquake also affected Thailand, and seismic tremors were felt in China and Vietnam.
