"At five o'clock [Moscow time, 14:00 GMT], there will be a telephone conversation with Trump. Trump already announced this the day before yesterday. Naturally, the conversation is important given the negotiations that took place in Istanbul," Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin will tell about the results of the telephone conversation between Putin and Trump, the official added.
He added that a possible meeting between Putin and Trump depends on personal agreements between the leaders.
"It will largely depend on what they decide themselves. The two presidents make the decision. The meeting, of course, needs to be worked out, but depending on what dates they themselves set, the teams will adjust to this," Peskov stated, adding that the meeting should be well prepared.
