Hundreds of students gathered during the day outside the Bangladesh Government Secretariat building. They called for the resignation of the education advisor, who, according to them, delayed the announcement regarding the cancellation of public exams during the national mourning declared on Tuesday following the plane crash in Dhaka.
Additionally, the protesters demanded an immediate halt to flights of outdated training aircraft, as well as compensation for the families of those killed and injured in the plane crash.
Some of the protesters managed to enter the Secretariat building. Security personnel used batons, stun grenades, and tear gas to disperse them, according to the media.
The F-7 BGI aircraft crashed on July 21, falling onto a two-storey educational complex building in Dhaka just minutes after takeoff. At the time, hundreds of students were inside the building. Immediately after the crash, the plane caught fire, and a blaze ensued.
