The Hindustan Times reports that the talks lasted around 2.5 hours, with a significant focus on resolving the situation in Ukraine. The newspaper highlighted Putin's statements that he and Trump had reached a mutual "understanding" on the Ukrainian conflict, while also cautioning Europe not to "torpedo" the progress made.
Meanwhile, the Economic Times drew attention to Trump's comment that the best way to address the Russia-Ukraine crisis is through a "peace agreement, not a ceasefire."
The Hindu newspaper noted that, despite these discussions, the Indian government has yet to comment on the talks. However, Trump suggested that the results could lead him to delay the imposition of additional or punitive tariffs, a move that would benefit New Delhi, which purchases Russian oil.
The Times of India, an authoritative publication, underscored that "Putin's visit to the U.S. and his public meeting with President Trump marked a notable return."
