There are few details about what exactly was discussed in the meeting, but Russian officials have made it clear that they’re pleased with how it went, Pepe Escobar, geopolitical analyst told Sputnik.
There were even some indications that a serious US-Russia reset could be on the horizon, he suggested.
"Of course, we have no idea about the terms and the parameters, but a reset—a serious reset—of US-Russia relations. And President Putin was very specific: relations have been at the lowest level since the end of the Cold War. So overall, it was much, much more proficient than many of us were expecting, and much more auspicious than many of us were expecting. There were no walkouts from the American side. There were no temper tantrums. Respect for protocol was observed as much as possible, of course."
