"Both of those things are impossible," Trump told Fox News when asked a relevant question.
He further said that no American troops will be deployed to defend the borders of Ukraine following a peace agreement with Russia and even after the current administration vacates office.
"Well, you have my assurance and I'm President, and I'm just trying to stop people from being killed," Trump told Fox News when asked what assurances he has that US soldiers wouldn't end up defending Ukrainian borders following his presidential term.
Meanwhile, Trump mentioned that if the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky "works out", he will attend trilateral talks with them to close a peace deal.
"I called President Putin. We’re trying to work out a meeting with President Zelensky. We'll see what happens there. And if if it works out, then I'll go to the trilateral and close it up," Trump told Fox News.
