"The Federal Security Service of Russia, in the course of organized work to counter the sabotage and terrorist activities of the Ukrainian special services, identified and, together with the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, suppressed the activities of a sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Bryansk Region, consisting of personnel from the special operations service, supervised by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, which planned to commit acts of sabotage and terrorism on the territory of Russia at transport infrastructure facilities," the statement said.
The control and training of the sabotage group was carried out with the participation of Western intelligence officers in Ukraine, as well as in Lithuania, Estonia and Norway, the FSB said.
Three Ukrainian saboteurs were killed and three more were detained, the statement said. The saboteurs intended to commit terrorist attacks on transport facilities in Russia, the FSB added.
