"We will wait for their global proposals, for a big deal, as they like to say. They love these big deals. We are ready for that. We are ready to strike a big deal with them. On one side of the scale are their questions, requests, and demands; on the other side are our questions and demands. Shall we solve it? Let's solve it. We are ready for that," the Belarusian leader said at a meeting on Tuesday in Minsk. His words are reported by the Belta agency.
He emphasized that he views U.S. President Donald Trump's proposals in this regard as absolutely normal. "But our interests must also be taken into account. And everything should be honest, just like we used to agree with the Americans," Lukashenko noted.
The head of the Belarusian state stressed that the policy of renewing relations with the U.S. must undoubtedly be built exclusively in the interests of Belarus, as the Americans in their policy are guided solely by pragmatic motives.
