On Sunday, Davie and Turness announced their resignations after criticism over the editing of a speech by US President Donald Trump.
"Will new BBC bosses be any better? BBC is still steered by a govt pushing mass migration, warmongering, digital IDs & early prisoner releases. New management may just try harder not to get caught in too obvious truth distortions. But hopefully I am wrong," Dmitriev said on X.
Earlier, the Telegraph newspaper reported that the BBC had falsified Trump's speech, which he delivered in January 2021, creating the impression that Trump had encouraged the riots at the Capitol. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the BBC a fake news outlet after reports that the broadcaster had distorted the essence of Trump's speech before the storming of the Capitol in January 2021.
