The initiative is intended to improve transparency, streamline customs procedures, and enhance coordination between the Federal Customs Service of Russia and India’s Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.
The directive states that, in accordance with Article 11 of the Federal Law on International Treaties of the Russian Federation, the government has approved a proposal by the Ministry of Finance—coordinated with the Foreign Ministry and the Federal Customs Service—to begin negotiations on the new protocol.
The agreement, once finalized, is expected to facilitate more efficient trade flows and strengthen bilateral economic cooperation between Russia and India, whose commercial ties have expanded significantly in recent years.
