At the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, contact took place between representatives of the Russian and US administrations after Moscow analyzed documents brought by Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev from the US, the official said.
"There was such a telephone contact, and we decided to continue the dialogue," Peskov told reporters.
Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov and several White House officials participated in the contact between Russia and the United States, the official added.
