The US assumed the G20 2026 presidency on December 1. The first meeting of G20 representatives under the US presidency took place in Washington on December 15-16.
US President Donald Trump will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami without South Africa on December 14-15, 2026.
The US skipped the G20 summit in Johannesburg in November 2025 because the South African government "refuses to acknowledge or address the horrific Human Right Abuses endured by Afrikaners," Trump said.
