On Thursday, Putin is receiving the credentials from 34 newly arrived foreign ambassadors in the Kremlin. The ceremony takes place in the Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
"Russia is sincerely committed to the ideals of a multipolar world," Putin said during the ceremony of presenting credentials.
Russia is committed to maintaining open relationships with those willing to cooperate, Putin added.
"Our country has always pursued and will continue to pursue a balanced, constructive foreign policy course that takes into account both our national interests and objective trends in global development," Putin said, adding that Russia is always open to building equal, mutually beneficial relations with international partners.
Russia also advocates strengthening the UN's central role in global affairs, Putin said.
