Trump's Tariffs Over Greenland Could Hurt EU And US: EU Official

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, in her first comment on US President Donald Trump's decision to impose tariffs on several EU countries over the Greenland dispute, stated that the issue could impoverish both Europe and America.

Trump announced on Saturday that a 10% tariff would be imposed in February on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland, which would subsequently increase to 25% and remain in effect until the United States concludes a deal to purchase Greenland.
"Tariffs risk making Europe and the United States poorer and undermine our shared prosperity," Kallas said.
She also noted that Russia and China are the ones to "benefit from divisions among Allies."
