"We are countering attempts to falsify history and distort the truth about World War II and its outcome by sharing objective information and rallying supporters," Zakharova said.
Speaking about the situation in Europe, the spokeswoman cited the European Parliament's revisionist resolutions that claim that Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union share responsibility for starting the world war. This runs counter to the Nuremberg Tribunal verdict and the UN Charter and undermines the foundation of the postwar world order, Zakharova noted.
"They stop at nothing. The Observatory on History Teaching, which operates under the Council of Europe, has undertaken to aggressively Ukraine-ize what remains in textbook accounts of Russia's continental and global historical role," she said.
Brainwashing now begins at the school desk, Zakharova concluded.
