Sri Lanka in Direct Talks With Russia on Fuel Security: Cabinet

Sri Lanka has started negotiations with Russia at the government level in order to ensure fuel supplies, Nalinda Jayatissa, a government representative said on Tuesday.

Previously, Sri Lanka was unable to secure oil supplies from Russia, but now it is making efforts to find out if this is possible through intergovernmental agreements, the representative told reporters.
Additionally, Jayatissa said that Sri Lanka is grateful to Iran for the offer of oil supplies, but does not have its own tankers to accept it.
