Earlier in the day, Axios reported, citing an unnamed US official, that several US Navy ships had transited the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with Iran amid US-Iran talks in Islamabad. Trump also said that there were alternatives to transporting oil through the strait.
"We're now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to Countries all over the World, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany, and many others. Incredibly, they don't have Courage or Will to do this work themselves," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Earlier on Saturday, Trump announced the beginning of the talks in Islamabad. He also said that he did not care whether the talks would go well or not, as he was prepared to continue military action against the country.
