Eight former Indian Navy personnel, who have been detained in Qatar for nearly four months, have had their custody extended for another 30 days, according to a family member of one of the detainees.Meetu Bhargava, a relative of one of the detainees, tweeted on Saturday that the eight elderly vets are being held in solitary confinement and are in "mental breakdown condition."Bhargava also claimed that the detainees have pre-existing medical issues and are not in good health.On Thursday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that the country has secured "consular access" to the detainees, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has described the case as a "priority."However, Bhargava expressed frustration with the Indian government's efforts to secure the release of these veterans."Why can't they tell the Qatari authorities in no uncertain terms that enough is enough and demand the immediate repatriation of these ex-navy officers, or does the Indian Government not care about them?" Bhargava added.On August 30, eight former Navy officers who worked for Dahra Global Technologies & Consulting Services, a company that trained Qatari navy personnel, were arrested by Qatar's intelligence agency, the State Security Bureau. The CEO of the company, an Omani national who was also detained, was released shortly before the start of the FIFA World Cup.The Indian embassy in Doha reportedly did not learn of the arrests until mid-September. The detainees have not been charged with any crime and have not been given a reason for their detention.

Eight former Indian Navy personnel, who have been detained in Qatar for nearly four months, have had their custody extended for another 30 days, according to a family member of one of the detainees.
