An unidentified person has apologized for sending hoax bomb threats to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on New Year's Eve, triggering panic among airline staff, police revealed on Monday.A Twitter user sent multiple false threats to the IGI Airport's official account from 8.39 a.m. to 10.40 a.m. on Saturday. Airport staff immediately alerted security and the cybersecurity team tracked the suspect's Twitter account and monitored it.In the last DM sent at 10.40 a.m., the suspect apologized and wrote: "To be honest, I am really sorry."The social media handler of the IGI Airport has filed a police case demanding legal action against the person's Twitter account.A similar incident of a hoax threat to "bomb and eliminate" the facility triggered panic among passengers and airport staff on December 21, after which a precautionary security drill with sniffer dogs was carried out.
