With Elections in Mind, PM Modi Holds Massive Roadshow in Delhi

2023 will see state assembly elections in nine Indian states — four northeastern states, two south Indian, and in the states of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega roadshow from Parliament Street to the NDMC Convention Centre of Delhi on Monday before his party BJP organized its national executive meeting.
This is also the first roadshow Prime Minister Modi has held in the Indian capital in 2023.
The roadshow was participated in by hundreds of people, who were seen cheering their popular leader Narendra Modi, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Meanwhile, the two-day national executive of the BJP commenced in the city.
The meeting is being attended by high-level officials of the party, including 35 federal ministers, 12 state chiefs, BJP's state president, and 27 state general secretaries. Overall, the meeting will be attended by 350 delegates of the BJP from across the country.
According to Indian media reports, the meeting will focus on several important issues, including upcoming state assembly elections and the 2024 national election.
It is also expected that BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda's tenure is likely be extended. His present term is set to last until the end of January.
The party will start its meeting by discussing India's G20 presidency and how to take the achievement at a grassroots level.
The meeting will discuss how the party will plan related events across the country with the participation of party senior members and workers.
Every year, two executive meetings of the BJP takes place, the last was held in Hyderabad city in July 2022.

Grand Exhibition to Highlight BJP Accomplishments Inaugurated in Delhi

Meanwhile, the BJP president also inaugurated a grand exhibition featuring several themes at the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) convention to showcase the party and the BJP government's accomplishments.

“The first theme is ‘Seva, Sanganthan and Samarpan’. Which will showcase the activities carried out by the party, such as blood donation drives, programs for social justice and preservation of the environment, and national flag hoisting campaign to mark the 75th anniversary of Independence, etc.," Vinod Tawde, General Secretary of BJP, said

The second theme is "Vishwa Guru Bharat" (India, the knowledge giver of the world or India, the teacher), where the party will showcase the popularity of yoga and how International Yoga Day is now being celebrated across the world.
"It will focus on how India performed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the plans for the upcoming G20 summit will be presented at the exhibition and how we have reached the fifth position as a leader of space and technology programs," he said.
The other four themes are "Governance First" to highlight a path to peace and prosperity in North-East India: the empowerment of the poor and the marginalized., the empowerment of the minorities and achievements in the cultural sector, including conserving and temple construction, Tawde said.
