With over 252,000 views the video has gone viral drawing a lot of reactions from netizens.
A video of a rare 2.5-metre (8-foot) long giant squid swimming in the waters off Japan's west coast has taken the internet by storm, leaving netizens stunned.
A diver couple, Yosuke Tanaka and his wife Miki, who operate a diving business in Hyogo region in Japan, got to know about the giant squid swimming in a bay. They took their boat out to reach the creature and captured it on camera earlier this month.
The video clip shows the giant squid with enormous tentacles and in white and red camouflaging colors.
Netizens took to the comment section and said, "It's incredible the creatures surviving at pressure depths in the open water, simply incredible."
Another commented, "This seems straight out of a movie! It's amazing!"
"This is a sea monster," replied the third.
Many Twitter users also pointed out that the sluggishly moving squid may have been sick.
“That squid looks pretty rough. Did a whale mess it up? Or is it just sick? My guess would be the 2nd,” one user commented.
A user replied with a speculatory comment. “Sick, old, and dying would be my guess, I doubt it would end up so far afield from its usual stalking grounds far below if it didn't have squid dementia or something.”
