12:12 28.01.2023 (Updated: 12:20 28.01.2023) According to preliminary reports, both aircraft has taken off from Gwalior Air Force station for training exercise.
Two Indian Air Force jets — Sukhoi SU 30 and Mirage 2000 crashed in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh state.
"An air force team is reaching the spot to confirm the plane and the number of people present in it. Police found a hand near the plane," Morena additional superintendent of police Rai Singh Narwariya told reporters.
"The IAF court of inquiry to establish whether there was a mid-air collision or not. The Su-30 had two pilots, while Mirage 2000 had one pilot during the crash. Initial reports suggest two pilots are safe, while an IAF chopper is reaching the location of the third pilot soon," press reported.
Both the pilots, who received injuries in the tragedy, have been ejected safely. Meanwhile, search and rescue operations are underway for the third pilot.
