Not only in crude oil we believe: India’s coriander seed import from Russia has witnessed a surge of 1,313 percent year-on-year, amounting to more than 23,000 tonnes, in the first eight months of the present fiscal year (2022-23).The report quoted data from the federal Commerce Ministry until November 2022.However, as India’s coriander seed import from Russia rises, the seed imports from Italy and Bulgaria in April to November declined sharply - by 83.9 percent and 40.8 percent respectively year-on-year.Overall data says India’s spice trade doubled from April to November to $22.24Mln (2022) from $10.20Mln (2021) and Moscow’s share jumped to nearly 84 percent from around 13 percent in the same period.

Russia now accounts for 88 percent of the coriander seeds imported to India in the present fiscal year. Other top exporters include Italy and Bulgaria.
Not only in crude oil we believe: India’s coriander seed import from Russia has witnessed a surge of 1,313 percent year-on-year, amounting to more than 23,000 tonnes, in the first eight months of the present fiscal year (2022-23).
“In value terms, the spice’s import from Russia shot up by 1,272 percent in April-November to $18.64Mln from a relatively paltry $1.36Mln in the same period a year earlier,” an Indian daily newspaper reported on Monday.
The report quoted data from the federal Commerce Ministry until November 2022.
However, as India’s coriander seed import from Russia rises, the seed imports from Italy and Bulgaria in April to November declined sharply - by 83.9 percent and 40.8 percent respectively year-on-year.
Overall data says India’s spice trade doubled from April to November to $22.24Mln (2022) from $10.20Mln (2021) and Moscow’s share jumped to nearly 84 percent from around 13 percent in the same period.
