Home Minister Amit Shah called on Tripura voters to re-elect the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against what he described as a "triple trouble" of alternatives in the upcoming state assembly elections.The minister also accused the Left Front of betraying tribals of the state, claiming that it tried to "dupe" people.BJP is campaigning in the state to ensure that it retains the power it wrested from the Left Front in the previous elections.Shah arrived in the state on Saturday night. He was received by state chief Manik Saha, Assam state chief Himanta Biswa Sarma and senior BJP politician and former Tripura state chief Biplab Kumar Deb at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport.Earlier on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a rally in Radhakishorepur area of the state where he slammed the policies pursued by Left and Congress groups, while applauding the current BJP government for improving the situation in the region.He said that Tripura is no longer known for violence and wants a "double-engine" of development. Modi also claimed that the Left-Congress alliance only looks to get more donations.

Home Minister Amit Shah called on Tripura voters to re-elect the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against what he described as a "triple trouble" of alternatives in the upcoming state assembly elections.
While addressing a rally in Unakoti district in the state, Shah said that "Tripura is faced with the ‘triple trouble’ of the Congress, CPI(M) [Communist Party of India (Marxist)] and Tipra Motha in the ensuing assembly elections. If you want to be rescued from this ‘triple trouble’, vote for the double-engine BJP government."
The minister also accused the Left Front of betraying tribals of the state, claiming that it tried to "dupe" people.
BJP is campaigning in the state to ensure that it retains the power it wrested from the Left Front in the previous elections.
