Indian-American millionaire Vivek Ramaswamy is the youngest among the Republican candidates who have announced running for president in 2024.
Ohio-based entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy on Tuesday announced his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
Ramaswamy is the third candidate from the Republic Party to announce a bid in the race.
The other two are former President Donald Trump, and Nikki Haley, a former US ambassador to the United Nations.

"As U.S. President, I will end federally mandated affirmative action - full stop. I will repeal Lyndon Johnson's Executive Order 11246 which mandates race-based quotas. Every Republican since Johnson had the opportunity to do it. I'll do it on Day 1 without apology," the 37-year-old Republican stated in a series of tweets.

Ramaswamy's political commitments, in case he becomes US president, include the following:

limiting the tenure of federal bureaucrats to at most eight years,

eliminating "worthless" federal agencies,
3.
making the US totally independent from China,

and finally, combating and "annihilating" drug cartels.

What is Known About Vivek Ramaswamy?

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1985. His parents immigrated to the United States from India. He worked at Ohio's General Electric plant, and his mother was a geriatric psychiatrist.
In 2007, he graduated from Harvard University with his major subject being biology. Then he went to Yale University to pursue a Doctor of Jurisprudence.
In 2014, Ramaswamy started Roivant — his pharmaceutical venture focusing on applying technology to drug development.
In 2015, he featured on the cover of Forbes magazine, which described him as "The 30-Year-Old CEO Conjuring Drug Companies from Thin Air."
As per his LinkedIn profile, he co-founded Strive Asset Management last year. He received the backing of several billionaire investors.
The 37-year-old is the author of "Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America's Social Justice Scam" and "Nation of Victims."
