Indian Netflix documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers' is winning people's hearts with its story of an unbreakable bond between two abandoned elephants and their caretakers.
The Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in India's Tamil Nadu state has become a tourist hot spot after the documentary 'The Elephant Whisperers' bagged an Oscar.
The documentary is based on the real story of a tribal couple who adopted two baby elephants and raise them like their own children.

After winning the Best Documentary Short Film at the Oscars, director Kartiki Gonsalves and co-producer Guneet Monga took centerstage as they received the honor and thanked the Academy and others for recognizing their film and highlighting indigenous people and animals.
“I stand here today to speak on the sacred bond between us and our natural world. For the respect of indigenous communities. For entity towards other living beings, we share our space with. And finally for co-existence. Thank you to the academy for recognizing our film highlighting indigenous people and animals...,” Gonsalves said while receiving the award.
