In December, an eight-year-old village boy was pulled out of a borewell in Madhya Pradesh state following a rescue operation lasting four days, but tragically died later on.
In a tragic incident, a five-year-old boy who fell into a 200-feet deep borewell in Ahmednagar District in India's Maharashtra state was declared dead on Tuesday morning.

Police said the child, identified as Sagar Buddha Barela, fell into the borewell at around 4 p.m. (IST) Monday, getting stuck at a depth of 200 feet.

A local fire brigade and disaster response wing reached the spot soon after the information was received to start the rescue efforts. A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team was also called in some time later, after the rescue operation reached a critical point.
“The rescue team managed to pull out the boy at around 3 a.m. (IST) on Tuesday. but after the initial examination, it was found that he was not responding. Efforts were made to revive him but subsequently, he was pronounced dead,” the official told the media.
The child'sfamily had temporarily migrated to Ahmednagar from the Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh and is employed by a sugarcane-cutting contractor.
Media reports citing police officials stated that a local farmer from Kopardi Village owns the borewell.
